Gotham Book Mart moves.Newmark New Spectrum just closed on a $5.2 million deal for the Gotham Book Mart and Gallery, the literary landmark in existence in New York New York, state, United States New York, Middle Atlantic state of the United States. It is bordered by Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and the Atlantic Ocean (E), New Jersey and Pennsylvania (S), Lakes Erie and Ontario and the Canadian province of since 1920. Gotham Book Mart & Gallery has purchased a five-story, 13,250 s/f building at 16 E. 46th St., between Madison and Fifth Avenues for its new flagship. After more than a year of searching for new quarters to replace its historic "Diamond District" building on 47th Street between Fifth and Sixth Avenue, which has been recently sold, the retailer found its new location. The store's new quarters are located in a building that previously housed the H.P. Kraus antiquarian an·ti·quar·i·an n. One who studies, collects, or deals in antiquities. adj. 1. A ballroom is a large room inside a building, the designated purpose of which is holding formal dances called balls. ideally suited for Gotham's future gallery exhibits and book signing parties. Craig Slosberg and Ross Kaplan, of Newmark New Spectrum, represented the tenant in the transaction. "The building was a perfect fit for my operation and allowed for future expansion" said Andreas Brown, the bookstore owner.
