Goodyear Tire & Rubber's Engineered Products.

Tim Toppen was named president of Goodyear Tire & Rubber's Engineered Products, succeeding Tave Mallamaci who died July 15 at the age of 58.

Mallamaci joined Goodyear in 1969 and began his most recent appointment in August of 2000.

Toppen began his career with Goodyear in 1978, working assignments in research and technology. He was named marketing manager of chemicals in 1995. He was named director of research and development for Goodyear Engineered Products in 1997. Toppen most recently served as president of Goodyear Chemical.

Jonathan Rich, former director of chemical research and development at Goodyear, succeeds Toppen as Goodyear Chemical president. In 1982, he joined GE Corporate Research and Development and held several management positions. He was most recently technical director for GE Bayer Silicones in Erkrath, Germany.
