Good news.

VATICAN CITY -- The Vatican website has long been available to speakers of all the major languages of Europe (and to aficionados of Latin). In March a new Chinese language version of vatican.va was launched to reach the estimated 13 million Catholics in mainland China, the first non-European language to be so recognized by the Holy See.

China and the Vatican have not had diplomatic relations since 1951, when the Holy See recognized Taiwan. The church in China is divided between an "official" church sanctioned by Beijing and an underground church loyal to Rome.
