Golfing for children: AmCham/Monterrey holds annual charity golf tournament.


AMCHAM Monterrey held its 5th Annual Charity Golf Outing at the Valle Alto Valle Alto is:
  • Valle Alto (La Paz) - name of the main valley of La Paz, Bolivia
  • Valle Alto (Cochabamba) - name of a region in the Cochabamba Department, Bolivia
  • Valle Alto (Hermigua) - name of the first settlement of Hermigua on La Gomera, Canary Islands
 Golf Club on June 4. The enthusiastic and generous participation of our members and sponsors made it possible to raise much-needed funds for the Monterrey Special Education Center (CREE). The CREE is an educational institution serving the special education needs of children in the Monterrey area, principally those with severe birth and learning defects.

The 18-hole Scramble To encode (encrypt) data in order to make it indecipherable without having a secret key to "unlock" it. The term came from the early days of cryptography which camouflaged analog transmissions with secret frequency patterns.  Tournament (A-Go-Go) began at 7:00 a.m. with the first sixsomes teeing off, and continued throughout the day. Turnout was exceptional, with a total of 86 golfers from both the Monterrey and international business communities, for a total of 17 teams based on handicap handicap

In sports and games, a method of offsetting the varying abilities or characteristics of competitors in order to equalize their chances of winning. Handicapping takes many, often complicated, forms.
. The weather was ideal for a day of golfing--overcast and comfortable, so nobody could blame disappointing scores on the "intense heat" that often swelters northern Mexico. Sponsors made the tournament even more comfortable for the players by providing gifts and beverages along the way.

Arturo Hernandez, president of CREE's board of directors, showed a video of the institution as well as a moving story of the mother of a child attending CREE. Five children from the CREE were present as well and handed out golf balls with the CREE logo to each player as a token of their appreciation.

After playing, everybody took a break. An open bar and an excellent lunchtime buffet A buffet is a meal serving system where patrons serve themselves. It is a popular method of feeding large numbers of people with minimal staff. The term is also used to describe a sideboard, an antique form of furniture which was sometimes used to offer the dishes of a buffet meal  was served to players and participants and many were lucky enough to win a prize during the Raffle and Prize Auction--if not during the tournament itself.
