Golfers' GPS preference survey.


LinkServ Golf announced today that it has completed a comprehensive attitude and preference survey regarding U.S. golfers' preferences for GPS technology on golf courses.

LinkServ Golf created and sent out a survey to over 12,000 avid AVID Cardiology A clinical trial–Antiarrhythmics Versus Implantable Defibrillators that compared the effect of implantable defibrillators vs the best medical therapy–antiarrhythmics for survivors of MI or those with nonsustained ventricular tachycardia  golfers The list of golfers has been split into two articles:

The results represent the largest survey ever completed regarding GPS attitudes and preferences.

 systems let the golfers see a graphical representation of the hole they are playing and offer immediately and accurate distance information from any point on the golf course. The survey was conducted over several months during the past year and consisted of subscribers to the GolfConnect.com network of golf tee time services nationwide.

Survey responses were tabulated on September September: see month.  15, 2006. Highlights of the survey included:

* 72 percent of all respondents In the context of marketing research, a representative sample drawn from a larger population of people from whom information is collected and used to develop or confirm marketing strategy.  prefer to golf at a course that offers GPS over a golf course that does not offer GPS. Only 24 percent of all respondents indicated no preference.

* 90 percent of respondents are not opposed to advertising being displayed on the GPS units.

* 59 percent of respondents would have a greater tendency to choose the products and services of businesses that advertised on the GPS systems at their favorite golf course.

* Over 91 percent of all respondents indicated they have played on a golf course that utilized a GPS system.

"Without a doubt, the results of this survey indicate that GPS yardage systems enhance the golfing experience, and golfers want to see this enhancement," stated LinkServ's President, Jeff Zellmer. "When almost three-quarters of the golfing public in our survey indicate this strong of a preference for choosing a golf course that has GPS, golf courses in competitive markets will definitely benefit by taking a strong look at new advances in GPS technology."
