HOME duo Juliet Pennant and Sue Langford had a better back nine to clinch victory in the Stoneleigh Deer Park Ladies Spring Open.

From a strong entry of 74 pairs, they scored 45 points, to pip Debbie williams and Marion Parsons, from The Warwickshire. In third place, with 43 points were Clare Howell (Moor Hall) and Kath Ashley (Nuneaton), with Christine Ratcliffe and Sandra Morris, from Lutterworth fourth on 42.

Other winners: Longest drives-Jane Taylor (The Warwickshire and Hazel Hortop (Stratford Oaks); nearest pin: Dr Alison Seymour-Mead (Stoneleigh) and Marion Parsons (The Warwickshire).

A NEW course record was set at Lutterworth in the QDOS pro-am.

Kettering-attached professional Simon Lilly carded a six-under 64, which included eight birdies and was three strokes better than the previous course best.
