Top U.S. Collegiate Players Compete with British and Irish

Counterparts June 27-28 in Springfield, N.J.

The 2001 Palmer Cup, a premier competition highlighting the world's best collegiate golfers, will be presented by CSFBdirect at Baltusrol Golf Club The Baltusrol Golf Club is a 36-hole country club located in Springfield Township, Union County, New Jersey. Baltusrol was the site of the 87th PGA Championship. The course architect is A. W.  in Springfield, N.J. on June 27-28. The prestigious Ryder Cup-style event, a competition between the top collegiate men's players in the U.S., Great Britain and Ireland Great Britain and Ireland are the two largest islands in the British Isles. Reigning U.S. Amateur Champion Jeff Quinney of Arizona State is one of the eight-man team selected to represent the United States. Last year Quinney won the 2000 U.S. Amateur at Baltusrol, which is ranked among the top 100 U.S. courses by Golf Digest.
