This permit called Ruska Bystra is on the southwest slope of the Vihorlat Mountains Vihorlat Mountains (Slovak: Vihorlatské vrchy; Ukrainian: Vyhorliat) or colloquially Vihorlat is a volcanic mountain range in eastern Slovakia and western Ukraine. , a sub range of the Flysch flysch

Carpathians. The permit abuts the Ukraine border and lies approximately 40 km NW of the Ukraine Beregovo deposit.

This large deposit is situated in the same position as the Ruska Bystra permit (on the south flank of the Flysch Carpathians) and has a reported 14,000,000 oz. of gold averaging 1.5 gr/tonne (H.R. Krouse and L.Z. Skakun, 1994). This permit is 12 km NE of the large permit held by RTZ RTZ Rio Tinto Zinc

(rumoured to be 700 km2) that covers the Slanske Mountains east of the city of Kosice.

It has been rumoured that RTZ has made a significant discovery in this area. Preliminary surface work done on the Ruska Bystra permit has given assays of 0.1 to 1.0 gr/tonne Au distributed over a broad area. The geologists working on this project, have suggested that there is a very good probability for a large tonnage Carlin-type ore body here (Dr. Z. Bacso, Dr. J. Knesl, 1995). Geochemical surveying and trenching will commence in May.
