Golden Masks, which are awarded annually for the best stage performances in Russia, were given to John Neumeier John Neumeier (February 24, 1942 - ) is a well-known American ballet dancer, choreographer, and director. In 1991 it was officially renamed the St. Petersburg Maryinsky Ballet; however, on its frequent tours abroad it is still called the Kirov Ballet. .
