Turner, has successfully settled his libel and defamation lawsuit against Doug Mackenzie Douglas (Doug) MacKenzie was a fictional character in UK soap opera Family Affairs, played by Gareth Hale from 2003 to 2005. About Doug Doug first appeared in Charnham in September 2003, when he took on the job of refitting The Davenport's sandwich shop, , a.k.a. DigrDoug, for an undisclosed sum that has been received. In conjunction with the settlement, Turner received the following letter of apology: "Dear Mr. Turner: I hereby formally and sincerely apologize to you for any and all comments that I have made about you through Internet chat rooms or bulletin boards that in any way have (sic) may have negatively reflected upon your character, reputation, professional competency or integrity.
