About Doug Doug first appeared in Charnham in September 2003, when he took on the job of refitting The Davenport's sandwich shop, , a.k.a. DigrDoug, for an undisclosed sum that has been received. In conjunction with the settlement, Turner received the following letter of apology: "Dear Mr. Turner: I hereby formally and sincerely apologize to you for any and all comments that I have made about you through Internet chat rooms or bulletin boards that in any way have (sic) may have negatively reflected upon your character, reputation, professional competency or integrity.
