Golden Corral provides Chow, cash, and charity for DAV.


Most veterans were quick to answer Chow Call when they were in uniform. On Nov. 12, 2001, more than 400 Golden Corral Golden Corral is a family-style restaurant chain that features a large buffet and grill offering 150 hot and cold items, a carving station and their Brass Bell Bakery. It is a privately-held company headquartered in Raleigh, North Carolina, USA.  restaurants nationwide called out to veterans and active duty military by providing free dinners. Grateful veterans and active duty military chowed down for a bill of $2 million, all covered by Golden Corral.

In addition, DAV See WebDAV.  Chapter volunteers who manned the restaurants over the Veterans Day weekend raised more than $150,000 in contributions to DAV. Golden Corral allowed DAV contribution canisters to be placed in restaurants so customers could make donations to approved DAV service programs.

"The honor shown to the DAV by Golden Corral restaurants and its patrons was impressive," said DAV National Adjutant ADJUTANT. A military officer, attached to every battalion of a regiment.  in paying this tribute to DAV and our nation's veterans."

Golden Corral estimated that 236,000 veterans and active duty military personnel enjoyed free dinners at more than 400 restaurants in 39 states. "These meals translate to a nearly $2 million thank you from Golden Corral and the Disabled American Veterans The Disabled American Veterans, or DAV, is an organization for disabled veterans that helps them and their families through various means. It currently has over 1.2 million members.

The DAV was controversial during the 2006 election cycle.
," said Golden Corral President and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  Ted Fowler. "A way to honor our nation's patriots for the work they do today and for their years of service on behalf of our country."

"Every day, thousands of American military are protecting the freedom of the United States United States, officially United States of America, republic (2005 est. pop. 295,734,000), 3,539,227 sq mi (9,166,598 sq km), North America. The United States is the world's third largest country in population and the fourth largest country in area.  and its citizens at home and around the world," Mr. Fowler said. "Military Appreciation Night is our simple way of saying `thank you' for all you do."

Three years ago, Golden Corral instituted Military Appreciation Night to honor veterans and service members and to learn from those who serve our nation worldwide. The cornerstone of the project is to offer all U.S. military personnel a free dinner on the Monday following Veterans Day.

This year, the restaurant chain decided to specially honor DAV and its service programs for disabled veterans.

"Golden Corral wanted to help the DAV in its mission to build better lives for disabled veterans and their families," Adjutant Wilson said. "In doing so, they wanted to give their thanks to the men and women who served and sacrificed for our nation. The partnership means that contributions by the restaurant chain's patrons will go a long way to improving the lives of disabled veterans and their families."
