("GoldQuest" or the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:GQC)is pleased to announce the results of further channel sampling on its 100% owned Las Animas volcanic-hosted massive sulfide deposit in the western Dominican Republic Dominican Republic (dəmĭn`ĭkən), republic (2005 est. pop. 8,950,000), 18,700 sq mi (48,442 sq km), West Indies, on the eastern two thirds of the island of Hispaniola. Since the Press Release of 12th January 2006, GoldQuest has carried out detailed geological mapping and trenching in the area of the old mine workings. This has defined the geometry of the gossan body, interpreted to have formed by oxidation of massive sulfides, as up to 16 meters wide with an approximate east-west strike and a near-vertical dip. Twenty-six channel samples totalling 53.0 m were taken in bed-rock in four hand-dug trenches across the gossan. The trenches are perpendicular to strike over a strike length of 36 m to 46 m in the area between previously reported Channels No. 1 and 2A-2B. The results include 16.0 m at 6.13 g/t Au and 62.24 g/t Ag (Channel No. 10), with peak sample values of 14.70 g/t Au and 342.00 g/t Ag over 2.0 m.
