- EM geophysical survey Geophysical survey refers to the systematic collection of geophysical data for spatial studies. Geophysical surveys may use a great variety of sensing instruments, and data may be collected from above or below the Earth's surface or from aerial or marine platforms.  defines 1.4 km long conductor coincident with the vicinity of previously announced historical drill hole with reported intersection of 29.6 meters of 8.88% Cu, 1.29% Zn, 2.07 g/t Au and 55.28 g/t Ag.

in the western Dominican Republic Dominican Republic (dəmĭn`ĭkən), republic (2005 est. pop. 8,950,000), 18,700 sq mi (48,442 sq km), West Indies, on the eastern two thirds of the island of Hispaniola. The capital and largest city is Santo Domingo. . Since the Press Release of 21st March 2005, GoldQuest has defined several new zones of new mineralization on its wholly-owned Las Animas project using historical data with new geological mapping, lithogeochemical sampling and geophysics.

A ground electromagnetic (EM) geophysical survey was recently completed over an old mine working on the Las Animas concession to explore for massive sulfide bodies. The oxide zone was worked in a small pit in the 1980s but the sulfide portion has never been exploited. The EM survey has highlighted several significant conductive anomalies in the vicinity of an historical drill hole with a reported intersection of 29.6 meters (from 88.0 to 117.6 meters) grading 8.88% Cu, 1.29% Zn, 2.07 g/t Au and 55.28 g/t Ag (Press Release 21st March, 2005, unverified pre-NI 43-101 data quoted from UNDP UNDP United Nations Development Programme
UNDP Unión Nacional para la Democracia y el Progreso (National Union for Democracy and Progress)
 report project number DOM/78/004).

The geophysical survey, carried out by Big Sky Geophysics of Montana, used the horizontal loop electromagnetic method with a Max-Min II induction EM system. The grid was surveyed using 100 meter, 50 meter (partial) and 25 meter (partial) coil separations. Readings were made at frequencies of 3555, 1777, 888, 444 and 222 Hertz. The survey results show eight conductors with a cumulative strike length of 2,100 m. A series of conductors can be traced over a strike length of about 1,400 m and are close to the steeply dipping contact mafic and felsic fel·sic

volcanics. Between the two volcanic sequences are metasediments which are closely associated with the known mineralization and which have been mapped for about 2,000 m. The other conductors are within the felsic volcanics (sericite Ser´i`cite

schists). It is interpreted that the EM conductors are probably due to sulfides as the metasediments do not appear to be very graphitic.

Initial sampling of gossan blocks from the old working area gave an average of 6.61 g/t Au and 48.44 g/t Ag in nine samples. Recent work by GoldQuest has discovered outcropping gossan located in a heavily overgrown overgrown

area of the mine. This returned channel samples results of 6.45m @ 11.85 g/t Au and 18.59 g/t Ag (composite of continuous 1.0 to 1.45 m channel samples) with a peak value of 24.0 g/t Au over 1.0 m. A new outcrop of the gossan has been discovered 95 m to the east and gave results of 11.55 g/t Au with 46.4 g/t Ag over 1.60 m, and 3.28 g/t Au and 61 g/t Ag over 1.20 m. Further encouragement of district scale mineralization includes two subcrop samples of gossanous sericite schist schist (shĭst), metamorphic rock having a foliated, or plated, structure called schistosity in which the component flaky minerals are visible to the naked eye.  1 kilometer west of the old mine area which returned 14.0 g/t Au and 7.4 g/t Au, and a float sample of quartz vein 1.5 kilometers north-west of the old workings which returned 119.0 g/t Au.

The Las Animas concession is located 110 km north-west of the capital Santo Domingo.

Preparation and geochemical analyses of all samples were carried out by ALS Als (äls), Ger. Alsen, island, 121 sq mi (313 sq km), Sønderjylland co., S Denmark, in the Lille Bælt, separated from the mainland by the narrow Alensund.  Chemex, Vancouver.
