.) (the "Company") is pleased to announce that it has been granted an option from Tech Industries Ltd. for the exploration and, if warranted, the production of specific valuable minerals and commodities on the property referred to as the McDermitt property.

The McDermitt property is located in the Opalite Mining District, Humboldt County, Nevada Humboldt County is a county located in the U.S. state of Nevada. In 2005, its estimated population was 17,129. Its county seat is Winnemucca6.

The county was the site of an arrest in 2000 that led to the U.S. Supreme Court decision Hiibel v.
State, USA. Pursuant to the option, Gold Canyon will have 60 days to conduct its due diligence Research; analysis; your homework. This term has caught on in all industries, because it sounds so "wired." Who would want to do analysis or research when they can do due diligence. See wired.  and then, if satisfied, negotiate a formal lease agreement.

Gold Canyon's primary interest in the McDermitt property is its gallium. Robert Carrington, recently named as geological consultant to Gold Canyon, will conduct the "due diligence" on the McDermitt property. Mr. Carrington is presently conducting "due diligence" on the Alder alder (ôl`dər), name for deciduous trees and shrubs of the genus Alnus of the family Betulaceae (birch family), widely distributed, especially in mountainous and moist areas of the north temperate zone and in the Andes.  Property in Twisp, Washington Twisp is a town in Okanogan County, Washington, United States. The population was 938 at the 2000 census. History
Twisp was originally platted in 1897, and officially incorporated on August 13, 1909.
.

For those unfamiliar with gallium and are curious as to why a gold exploration company like Gold Canyon would wish to explore for gallium in Washington and Nevada, Mr. Carrington furnished the following:

"Gallium may be thought of as the Precious Metal of the technology age. Once only a laboratory curiosity, today gallium is used in nearly aspect of our society and economy. Refined gallium now sells for over $2,500 (US) per kilogram or $130 (US) per ounce, roughly one half the current price of gold. Gallium and its compounds are a critical element of cell phones, computers, CD players, DVD players, computerized cars, integrated circuits and even sports equipment. Gallium has literally become one of the building blocks of our modern technological society and economy today.

The world's gallium is supplied as a by-product by·prod·uct or by-prod·uct

of either aluminum or zinc mining with minor contributions from processing of flue dust. Over 90% of world gallium production originates as by-product of aluminum mining. The grade of deposits producing by-product gallium is generally only a few parts per million parts per million

(ppm). Due to skyrocketing energy prices world wide, the energy intensive aluminum industry is plagued by almost daily cutbacks of operations and production, resulting in a parallel reduction in world gallium supply. Only one company, Dowa Mining, of Japan, one of the world's largest producers of refined gallium produces gallium as a by-product of zinc recovery.

While the gallium supply is falling, gallium demand is growing faster than ever. China is developing a nation wide cellular phone system that is expected to develop 50 million new subscribers over the next 36 to 48 months. Japanese and American companies are competing to develop the first Light Emitting Diodes (LED's) suitable for use as automotive headlights in the emerging electric car market. The first to patent, controls the technology and possibly this vast emerging market. All the while teenagers and their parents everywhere continue buying DVD players, Cell phones, and other gallium dependent technologies at ever increasing rates.

The growing demand for gallium comes at a time when world gallium supply is decreasing. The result being a startling star·tle

rise in gallium prices. Prices for refined gallium has remained fairly stable over the past 30 years at an average price of roughly $500 per kilogram. As recently as October 2000, gallium was trading at $550 per kilogram. By December, the price had risen to $1,000 per kilogram and by January 2001, it had reached $2,000 per kilo Thousand (10 to the 3rd power). Abbreviated "K." For technical specifications, it refers to the precise value 1,024 since computer specifications are based on binary numbers. For example, 64K means 65,536 bytes when referring to memory or storage (64x1024), but a 64K salary means $64,000. . As of March, the metal was trading at $2,560 per kilo.

Carrington Consultants, on behalf of Gold Canyon Resources, is currently conducting "Due Diligence" studies of two reported gallium-bearing properties. One property, the Alder Mine, is located in Okanogan County, Washington Okanogan County (pronounced IPA: /ˌoʊkəˈnɒgən/) is a county located in the U.S. state of Washington. In area, it is the largest county in the state. , the other, the Cordero property, is located in the McDermitt Mining District, Humboldt County, Nevada.

Limited sampling at the Alder Property by a previous operator, property returned highly anomalous gallium values generally in the range of 10 to 40 ppm, with a single sample returning greater than 10,000 ppm or more than 1% gallium. Geochemical sampling of the McDermitt, Nevada property by a previous operator has identified two significant gallium anomalies with gallium values ranging from 10 to 50 ppm. The anomalies are separated by zone of thin alluvium al·lu·vi·um

approximately 3,200 feet in extent, which potentially conceals a continuous structurally controlled target zone up to 500 feet wide. For comparison, 29.2 grams equal 1 troy ounce per short ton."

Gold Canyon will continue to seek control of gallium bearing properties recommended by Robert Carrington.
