(News from the World of Trees).Public and private sector leaders in urban forestry Urban forestry is the care and management of urban forests, i.e., tree populations in urban settings for the purpose of improving the urban environment. Urban forestry advocates the role of trees as a critical part of the urban infrastructure. from across the nation will meet at a grassroots summit September 21-24 in Salt Lake City. Attendees will range from land-management agencies to nonprofits to the tree-care industry at the citizens congress: "Building a United Constituency for Urban and Community Forstry." Urban and community forestry combines strategic planting, management, and education outreach Education outreach is a variation of Cause Marketing and/or Strategic Philanthropy and other focused Public Affairs activities that are specific to education. These programs may include:
Local, state, and national urban and community forestry leaders are urged to participate on a panel or simply to attend the meeting. Participants will help build momentum for the movement by collaborating on existing programs and future plans.
