Going for the Latino Market.


Washington Mutual Inc. has rolled out a major print, broadcast and outdoor advertising campaign aimed at strengthening its share of the Hispanic market. The campaign, which began in March, will continue through the end of the year. Major targets of the campaign include Los Angeles, San Diego, Miami, Sacramento, Orlando, Phoenix, Dallas, San Francisco and Houston. Some smaller but fast-growing markets--such as Las Vegas, Fresno, Salinas and EL Centro, will also be included.

The campaign will emphasize the bank's "truly free" checking accounts.
