Frances Sheridan Frances Sheridan, née Chamberlaine (1724 - 1766) was an Irish novelist and playwright.

Sheridan was born in Dublin, Ireland. In 1747 she married an actor, Thomas Sheridan, and at the same time began work on her first novel, Eugenia and Adelaide.
