Goalposts keep moving, developers complain.
UK business managers are making life harder for their development
teams, according to a recent survey of IT staff at development tools
company Merant's annual user conference. Three quarters of
respondents said that 'moving goalposts' was the primary
reason for development project failure. Other reasons included: changes
to the development team (19%), unrealistic timescales (60%), poor
internal communication (44%) and, the refreshingly honest response,
"loss of momentum" (39%).
