In this slim volume of only 100 pages, the author has combined biographical information, stories from Scripture, and guidelines for personal spiritual development into an extremely readable and enjoyable work.

Using his observations of ants on his father's farm in Nigeria as background, Eleyinafe, a minister, begins by reminding the reader of the scriptural origin of the title from Proverbs 6:6: "Go to the ant, you lazybones Lazybones

popular song by Hoagy Carmichael (1933). [Am. Music: Kinkle, II, 268]

See : Laziness
; consider its ways, and be wise." In each chapter he describes a trait of the ant and admonishes us to imitate that trait in our relationships with one another and most importantly Adv. 1. most importantly - above and beyond all other consideration; "above all, you must be independent"
above all, most especially
in our relationship with God. In the opening chapter, entitled "Go to the Ant," the author sets up the premise on which the book rests. Eleyinafe says that the study of the ant "was part of God's plan for (him) and that he has to remember its industrious nature and apply this lesson in (his) own life so as not to become physically or spiritually lazy."
