Glyphica, at the forefront of Web-based sales effectiveness solutions, today announced version 3.0 of its popular InfoPortal product line with new technology enhancements based on emerging Internet standards See Internet Engineering Task Force. .

The new releases -- InfoPortal(TM) 3.0/Sales Edition and InfoPortal 3.0/Marketing Edition -- include new personalization Custom tailoring information to the individual. On the Web, personalization means returning a page that has been customized for the user, taking into consideration that person's habits and preferences.  features, ODBC (Open DataBase Connectivity) A database programming interface from Microsoft that provides a common language for Windows applications to access databases on a network.  connectivity to hook into data systems, enhanced collaboration capabilities, and support for XML XML

and WebDAV (Distributed Authoring and Versioning).

The new products (see release entitled "Glyphica Launches InfoPortal 3.0 Products for Improving Sales Effectiveness," also released today) are designed to help organizations with complex selling requirements and products to accelerate sales cycles, gain more account and competitive intelligence, and ultimately, make it easier for their customers to buy. With these new product releases, Glyphica continues to bring the advantages of the Internet to corporate customers and critical business processes.

"Web standards Web standards is a general term for the formal standards and other technical specifications that define and describe aspects of the World Wide Web.  and technology companies -- this is essential for broker networks and worldwide distribution channels. Reducing cost and complexity while providing critical business accelerants is a win for both the channel and for the corporation. No other company in the market has taken the `portal' concept and applied it with such advanced technology on critical business processes in specific markets.

New enhancements to the InfoPortal 3.0 products include the following: -0-

-- Virtual Desk View. Each individual can create his or her own
personalized view or virtual desk to organize and aggregate the
array of data, documents, tasks, discussions, and market news key
to their own success. The virtual desk includes contact
management through the browser as well as customer and partner
profiling. It also includes time and event triggered task lists
as well as project and document management features. Contacts and
to do lists can be synchronized and exchanged with Palm Pilots
     and other PDAs.

-- ODBC Connectivity. Users can access, search and manage data
within SFA and ERP systems, marketing automation packages, Lotus
Notes databases or any other ODBC-compliant system. This
capability allows marketing and sales professionals to manage all
types of marketing and sales information in one place, and
provide straight-through processing such as taking orders online
     or checking inventory status.

-- Collaboration functionality. Glyphica's new products make it
easier to collaborate with team members, prospects and partners
with enhanced document routing and workflow for review and
approval processes. A critical differentiator is InfoPortal's
ability to route documents and projects across organizational and
team boundaries securely and easily. Threaded discussions allow
collaboration and dialogue to develop without regard to
organizational or geographic boundaries and are fully integrated
with the personalized virtual desk where users can subscribe to
appropriate discussions. The built-in search capabilities allow
users to search across discussions and their attachments as well
as e-mail, documents and data records.

-- Rapid Custom Application Development. Glyphica has made it easy
for end-users and third party developers to enhance and extend
the applications built on the PortalWare foundation. An API along
with UI integration support make it possible to develop and
quickly deploy custom business process applications. The UI is
browser-based and readily integrated with appropriate data
structures. The system can also be extended easily as it exposes
the application components through the JavaScript and HTML-based
template architecture. The components can be "programmed" via
standard JavaScript or complete third party components can be
programmed (in any language) and plugged into the application
model. As always with Glyphica products, the user interface is
browser based and is easily tailored to support any existing or
branded design, content or navigational schemes.

-- XML, WebDAV and Other Standards Support. Glyphica's WebDAV Server
in conjunction with WebDAV clients (such Internet Explorer 5.0
and Office 2000) make it possible for users to drag-and-drop
documents from their desktop to InfoPortal 3.0. The documents are
automatically indexed, versioned and fully searchable via popular
browsers. Office 2000 users can check out a document from
Glyphica's WebDAV server, modify it and save a new version to the
server -- all from within the Office 2000 applications. In
addition, the InfoPortal 3.0 applications use XML for data
interchange between applications, storage of persistent data from
external or legacy databases, and the presentation of certain
dynamic information such as threaded discussions. The latest
version of PortalWare also supports additional Web standards such
as WIDL (Web Interface Definition Language) for passing data
between applications and DASL (DAV Searching and Locating) for
advanced searching of web-based content collections.

-- Web capture. Because InfoPortal supports Adobe Acrobat 4.0, users
can capture entire Web sites in a compact, fully searchable PDF
document with all of the links retained. This capability can be
used to harvest competitive intelligence or maintain records for
     compliance purposes.

-- Link Management. The new InfoPortal 3.0 products will retain
existing links within documents, including links to other
documents in the portal, and develop link management reports to
track broken links within the portal.

-- Object-Based Foundation. PortalWare's new object-based foundation
has the innate ability to handle complex relationships between
documents, data and dialogue stored in the system. It enables
users to use a familiar style of navigation -- clicking and
linking to information -- and is reliable and scalable to high
numbers of users and huge amounts of stored information.

-- LDAP and Other Directory System Support. InfoPortal 3.0 allows
customers to tie into existing user and group databases such as
LDAP or NT user database, leveraging their investment in existing
     systems and minimizing administration.
