Global activity at Fiberweb.

The Fiberweb Group, Brugg, Switzerland, recently announced several developments impacting its global nonwovens business. Two recent product introductions in the agricultural segment of Fiberweb's Medical strategic business unit, "Agryl FIX" and "Novagryl," have been performing well since their debut in Europe. Agryl FIX takes a traditional spunbonded polypropylene polypropylene (pŏl'ēprō`pəlēn), plastic noted for its light weight, being less dense than water; it is a polymer of propylene. It resists moisture, oils, and solvents.  product and adds insert features - such as a cord insert along the fabric's sides - to ease application of the material in the field and increase the ability of the material to withstand wind and weather. Novagryl is based on the company's "S-Tex" fabric, which provides higher elongation elongation, in astronomy, the angular distance between two points in the sky as measured from a third point. The elongation of a planet is usually measured as the angular distance from the sun to the planet as measured from the earth.  and improved appearance. Both products are designed as crop cover fabrics and the two fabrics already account for more than 30% of current agricultural sales.

A new modular spunbonded technology is also in progress at Fiberweb Neuberger. Known as "HV Technology," the process - currently on a semi-works line - is a continuation of existing Fiberweb technology. The line is small, flexible and less capital intensive to enable the use of spunbonds in new, as yet untapped, markets. The initial application will be in hygiene hygiene, science of preserving and promoting the health of both the individual and the community. It has many aspects: personal hygiene (proper living habits, cleanliness of body and clothing, healthful diet, a balanced regimen of rest and exercise); domestic hygiene  markets.

The company also recently announced plans to discontinue dis·con·tin·ue
