Global Village appoints vice president and general manager to head PC division.

In this capacity, Watson will head up all strategic business development, engineering and marketing for the company's PC division, which currently develops and manufactures the industry-leading FaxWorks voice, fax and data software.

Watson, 34, joined Global Village from Compaq Computer, where he most recently served as director, desktop marketing. In this position, Watson oversaw the development and implementation of the division's overall commercial strategy, including pricing, communications and product positioning.

Under his supervision, the commercial desktop group grew substantially, catapulting the company to share leader in this market segment. Watson also held various other managerial positions at Compaq, including director, deskpro marketing; manager, portable products planning; and product manager.
