: GTLL) today announced that Lord David Young of Graffham and Richard Giordano, KBE KBE (in Britain) Knight (Commander of the Order) of the British Empire , will join GTL Management Limited ("GTL Management"), which is an indirect wholly owned subsidiary Wholly Owned Subsidiary

The lotteries are currently operated for the benefit of 38 well-known charities in the UK, which receive a substantial portion of lottery proceeds. GTL is in discussions with an additional 38 charities to join the list of beneficiaries of the lotteries.

Lord Young will chair the Board of the new venture, and Lord Young, Mr. Giordano and Irwin L. Gross, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of GTL, will comprise the executive committee that manages the venture. Lord Young and Mr. Giordano plan to acquire an equity stake in the venture.

Throughout his career, Lord Young has chaired numerous companies in the UK. Most recently, in 1996, he founded Young Associates Ltd., a private equity firm, and currently serves as its Chairman. From 1990 to 1995, Lord Young also served as Chairman of Cable & Wireless PLC, a major global telecommunications business with 1998-99 revenues of around (pound)8 billion (US$12.5 billion) and over 50,000 employees. Prior to his service in the private sector, Lord Young held many political positions in the UK, including serving as a member of Margaret Thatcher's Cabinet, Secretary of State for Employment The Secretary of State for Employment was a position in the Cabinet of the United Kingdom. In 1995 it was merged with Secretary of State for Education to make the Secretary of State for Education and Employment. , Secretary of State for Trade & Industry, and President of the Board of Trade. Mr. Giordano is currently Chairman of BG Group plc, a leading international energy company. GTL's UK lottery is called "The Daily Number" (www.dailynumber.co.uk) and is operated for the benefit of charities located throughout the UK. The Daily Number, which is only available to citizens of Great Britain, is currently operating and selling tickets through a network of 3,000 terminals located throughout the North of England. It is expected that this number will rise to 3,500 as 500 additional terminals are added to the network in the coming weeks.

The Daily Number is the first "pick three" style lottery game to be made available to British citizens. GTL has developed and launched The Daily Number with the expectation of capturing a portion of the UK's estimated US$12 billion lottery market. GTL plans to offer The Daily Number, together with other games, via the Internet in the second half of calendar year 2000.
