Melvin E. Lewis was previously the Vice President, International of Jack Schwartz Jacob T. Mr. Lewis also served in similar capacities while at Converse, Inc. and Avia International, Inc. While at Converse, he delivered a 60% increase in European sales in two years. International sales improved by 162% and royalties by 200% for footwear and activewear during his tenure. Mel was part of the team that built Avia's global brand image, bringing corporate sales to more than $140 million from $20 million in two years. He negotiated a joint venture in Japan and a long-term licensing deal, which allowed Avia to finally enter the European market.

(NYSE: FL) is a major American sportswear and footwear retailer, with its headquarters in New York City, and operating in approximately 20 countries worldwide. It is the successor corporation to the F.W. Woolworth Company (“Woolworth’s”). . Mr. Newcombe will be responsible for managing the sales force for the branded athletic footwear.
