Global Sources launches 'Garments & Textiles' and 'Fashion Accessories' magazines.


Global Sources (Singapore), a b2b media company that produces properties designed to facilitate global trade with a focus on China and Asian markets, has ceased publication of 'Asian Sources Fashion, Accessories & Supplies' and has launched 'Asian Sources Garments & Textiles' and 'Asian Sources Fashion Accessories' magazines and their accompanying web sites. An annual subscription costs $170 delivered via air courier or $70 via surface mail. Both new titles will be produced monthly.

'Garments & Textiles' provides the latest in-depth information on new garment and textile products and suppliers worldwide, with a focus on manufacturers in China and India. It carries updates on specific issues and opportunities affecting sourcing across the entire industry. Product and supplier advertisements comprise over 70% of magazine content. Covering garments, textiles and trimmings, editorial includes information on new products, supplier capability, analysis of pricing, production capacity, research and development spending, and manufacturing processes.

John Wiley & Sons (Hoboken, NJ) has signed an agreement to acquire Sybex Inc. (Alameda, CA), a publisher of books and software. Terms of the purchase, expected to close at the end of the month, were not disclosed.

Sybex Inc. was established in 1976 in Berkeley (CA) and Paris, France and currently maintains affiliate offices in the UK and distributes books throughout the world.
