Global Knowledge Network wins national multimedia award for innovative training course; Windows NT System Administration recognized as one of the year's best products.
The eight-hour CD-ROM training course was selected for a Gold INVISION award for product training and customer support by NewMedia magazine from among 900 entries.
Windows NT System Administration is an in-depth training course that uses the latest in multimedia technology to guide users through a simulated business installing and using Microsoft Windows NT. The product's interactive multimedia format allows users to get hands-on experience of Windows NT installation and work impact issues before doing it at their own business site.
"We're particularly pleased to have been awarded the Gold INVISION because it confirms our commitment to be the best in quality. We're also pleased that the award was for Windows NT since we are Microsoft's largest Authorized Technical Education Center in the world," said Duncan Anderson, vice president, marketing and alliances.
"This award is significant because it represents a turning point in the computer industry. We've now reached the stage where one new technology, such as multimedia, can be used as an enabler to develop competence for another technology, like Windows NT. In the past, learning new technologies was often limited to trial and error methods, which for the enterprise could represent huge hidden costs," Anderson continued.
"We're pleased Global Knowledge Network has been awarded the Gold INVISION award. They've been providing Microsoft customers and other IT professionals with quality technical training and innovative products for many years. This award certainly demonstrates their commitment to be one of the world's leading training providers," said Nancy Lewis, director, Microsoft channel programs, education and certification.
"I needed to be brought up to speed quickly on the system administration features of Windows NT. Global Knowledge Network's Windows NT System Administration training course allowed me to focus on the specific skills I needed to meet my deadline. Its interface is excellent and the level of interactivity is tremendous -- it was a great investment," said Edward T. McAvinn, system administrator, New York Life.
