Global Kids Youth to Present Photography Exhibit in Brooklyn Connecting Community and Global Issues.

, will present a one-night exhibition of photography, Through Our Eyes, on March 15. The exhibit was created by Global Kids Youth Leaders attending Canarsie High School in Brooklyn. This project explores the connection between global and local issues as seen through the eyes of empowered youth from challenged New York City neighborhoods.

Through Our Eyes culminates an intensive four-month photography project created by Global Kids Youth Leaders in XPressions at Canarsie H.S. Students received digital cameras and were asked to document a variety of themes central to the Global Kids curriculum including racism, poverty, emotions, class, the environment, and youth in the workforce. Each photo will be accompanied by a piece, written by participants, connecting the main focus to an international perspective.

The Through Our Eyes photography exhibit will be held on Thursday, March 15, 2007 from 6pm to 8pm at the International Center for Tolerance Education, which is located in the DUMBO section of Brooklyn at 25 Washington Street The following streets in the United States are called Washington Street:
