Global DataTel Names Former IBM Veteran Acting Chief Financial Officer.

Global DataTel, Inc. (OTCBB: GDIS) announced today that German (Herman) Ramirez, Chief Financial Officer of Global de Colombia, S.A., has been named Acting CFO for the corporation. He replaces Rafael Tovar who remains with the company as Comptroller. The announcement was made by Richard Baker, President and Chief Executive Officer of Global DataTel, Inc.

Mr. Ramierz, of Bogota, recently joined Global de Colombia, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Global DataTel, as Chief Financial Officer. Prior to joining Global, he served as a financial and business consultant to numerous businesses in Colombia. Mr. Ramirez brings a wealth of experience to Global, having held numerous positions at IBM de Colombia in a 25 year career. These positions included Finance and Administrative Director (1988-1994); Marketing Staff Manager (1988); Finance Manager (1986-1988); Treasurer (1980-1986); Accounting Manager (1971-1980); and Accounting Analyst (1969-1971). From 1966 to 1969 he was an external auditor for the accounting firm of Price Waterhouse in Colombia.

Lozano and is a member of the Instituto Colombiano de Derecho Tributario -ICDT (Colombian Tribunal Institute of Lawyers); the Asociacion de Contadores Tadeistas - Acontad (The Accountants Association) and the Asociacionde Exalumnos de la Universidad de Los Andes - Aexandes (Association of the Alumni of the University of Los Andes). He formerly served as a member of the board of directors of Leasing Bogota S.A. from 1995 to 1998.
