Global Crossing Signs $700 Million Contract to Provide CSC's Global Network.

Global Crossing Ltd. (NYSE:GX) announced today that it has been chosen by Computer Sciences Corporation (NYSE:CSC) to manage and provide telecommunication services for CSC's global wide area data and voice network in a twelve-year contract valued at $700 million.

Global Crossing's fiber optic infrastructure, range of advanced Internet Protocol (IP) services, and proven outsourcing expertise will be leveraged by CSC to upgrade and manage its corporate wide area network. The agreement makes Global Crossing one of the preferred providers of networking services for CSC and its customers.

The agreement with Global Crossing expands CSC's network reach, supporting its competitive positioning as a global information technology (IT) service and outsourcing solutions leader. As one of CSC's preferred providers, Global Crossing will team with CSC to deliver integrated solutions to multinational enterprises over a shared, fully managed, global IP network. Global Crossing will provide wide area network, Internet Protocol virtual private network (IP VPN), and converged data and voice services, and CSC will provide local area network (LAN) management services.

The Global Crossing network connects hundreds of major business centers worldwide. A key factor in CSC's choice of Global Crossing was the reach of Global Crossing's globally managed IP network. CSC's infrastructure includes 1,500 end points, approximately half of which are located outside North America, as well as connectivity to 18 major data facilities throughout the United States, Australia, Europe and Asia.

Additionally, the companies intend to co-market their services to provide multinational enterprises with an integrated portfolio of managed, desktop-to-desktop IP services. The relationship leverages the complementary strengths of Global Crossing's global fiber optic network assets and IP capabilities with the full range of CSC's leading IT services offerings.

In the Asia Pacific region, CSC's network operations will be managed by Asia Global Crossing, a subsidiary of Global Crossing.

The new agreement significantly expands the already successful relationship between the two companies and represents a new revenue stream from CSC. Global Crossing has been providing services to CSC through the early implementation of CSC's Integrated Global Network, which will connect CSC facilities and clients worldwide. Deployment of CSC's internal network onto Global Crossing's IP backbone began during the first quarter of 2001 at CSC offices and data centers in North America, the United Kingdom, Denmark, Australia, South Africa, Singapore, Tokyo, Hong Kong, and Kuala Lumpur.

In a separate agreement, Global Crossing is outsourcing to CSC its IT infrastructure, including mainframe and midrange computers, desktop computers, help-desk operations, and disaster recovery. Global Crossing will leverage CSC's scale to simultaneously lower costs and improve service and quality while allowing internal resources to focus on areas of strategic importance.
