STUDENTS FROM Glasgow Caledonian University arose victorious to be named winners of Opfest 2012.
Hosted by Aston University on March 9-10, the cross-university sporting event was attended by representatives from seven of the nine optometry schools across the UK.
Glasgow's win sees them secure the Optics Cup from Bradford University, who have won since the competition was re-established three years ago.
The annual 'sports day' opened with a sports-themed fancy dress night on the Friday (March 9), before students kicked off the tournament with a game of tug of war the following morning. Other sports held throughout the day included, football, volleyball, netball and dodgeball. In the evening students met for an 'Around the world in 80 dishes' themed dinner and Awards ceremony.
