Gladys M. (Ham) Gonyea, 87.
She leaves her four children, Adrian P. Gonyea, Jr. of Rutland, James E. Gonyea of Auburn, with whom she lived, twins John E. Gonyea and his wife Tina of Worcester, and Elaine M. Sabonaitis and her husband John of Shrewsbury; her brother, Leo J. Ham of Dennis; her four grandchildren, Toni, Peter, Tracy, Jason and Amber Gonyea, and her two great grandchildren, Devin and Ty Gonyea, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her three brothers, Newell J., Harold T., and Francis E. Ham, and by her three sisters, Anna R. Miller, Doris E. Girourd, and Mary F. Page. She was born in Worcester, a daughter of the late Newell E. and Elizabeth T. (Boyle) Ham and has lived in Auburn for many years. She graduated from Commerce High School, Worcester. Mrs. Gonyea spent most of her years as a homemaker raising her family. She later worked for Stafford Labs in Worcester for 13 years, retiring in 1985. She was a member of Saint Josephs Parish in Auburn and its former Catholic Womens League. She enjoyed figure skating, was an avid reader and loved to travel. Along with her husband, Mrs. Gonyea traveled with the Saint Joseph Senior Steppers on many occasions.
Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours with Gladyss family on Monday from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. in the Britton - Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central St., Auburn. Her funeral will follow with a Mass celebrated at 11 AM in Saint Josephs Church, 189 Oxford St., Auburn. Burial will be in Saint Johns Cemetery, Worcester.
