Give your soil a free boost REDCAR and Cleveland Council; INBRIEF.


REDCAR and Cleveland The borough of Redcar & Cleveland is a unitary authority in the ceremonial county of North Yorkshire, England consisting of Redcar, Saltburn-by-the-Sea, Guisborough, and small towns such as Brotton, Skelton and Loftus.  Council is giving away five tonnes of soil conditioner Noun 1. soil conditioner - a chemical substance used to improve the structure of the soil and increase its porosity; "gypsum can be used as a soil conditioner"  to anybody who would like to come along, bag it up and take it away from the Belmont House car park, Rectory Lane, Guisborough on Saturday, between 10am and 12noon.

There will be a three-bag limit given on a first come, first served basis. Shovels will be available, but you will need to provide your own bags. The soil conditioner has been collected through the council's green waste scheme and can be spread about an inch thick into garden borders to give plants plenty of nutrients and improve the soil.
