ALL mums are special. But this is your chance to show just how much you appreciate her.

Legendary city hairdresser Herbert Howe, of Herbert of Liverpool, is to give 50 lucky mums a once-in-lifetime makeover for Mother's Day.

"I want to give 50 mums a real treat," says Herbert, who owns the Bling Bling Noun 1. bling bling - flashy, ostentatious jewelry; "the rapper was loaded with bling"

Herbert and his 22 stylists will work all day on Saturday March 21, cutting, colouring, and styling so each mum walks out of the salon feeling a million dollars. They will be treated to flowers, chocolates and champagne and famous guests will pop in throughout the day.

It's a tradition Herbert began three years ago as a tribute to his own beloved mother Queenie, his receptionist for 30 years.

The make-over, he says, will provide the perfect pick-me-up for any mum who has been though a difficult time.

"When my mother died four years ago I felt I had to do something on Mother's Day for other mums," he says.

"Everybody's mum will be treated as specially as if she was my mum.

"It's my way of celebrating the people of Liverpool and giving something back."
