Gateshead Council is hosting a volunteer fair on November November: see month. 5 in a bid to connect local people with organisations which are looking for their help. Organised by the Gateshead Voluntary Organisations Council, the event is the latest in a series to be held as part of Gateshead's Year of Volunteers. It takes place at Gateshead's Caedmon Caedmon (flourished 658–680) Earliest known Old English Christian poet. According to Bede, he was a herdsman who received a divine call in a dream to sing of “the beginning of things” and began to utter “verses which he had never heard.
