THE festive season is almost upon us and thoughwewill all be busier than normal please try and spare a thought for animals by following these steps to a compassionate Christmas: n Only buy cruelty-free cosmetics, toiletries toi·let·ry

n Thousands of abandoned pets are destroyed each year. Never give animals as presents.

n Don't wear animal skins, switch to synthetic 'leather' and 'suede'.

n Don't go to the zoo or to animal circuses. Keeping animals in captivity and forcing them to perform is cruel and degrading TO DEGRADE, DEGRADING. To, sink or lower a person in the estimation of the public.
