Girl Scout honor for Nixon Peabody's Elizabeth Moore.

Each year, the Girl Scout Council of Greater New York honors individuals for their commitment to girls and girl scouting in New York City.

Elizabeth Moore provides counsel to her clients on government compliance issues which include ethics, government relations strategy, lobbying, and campaign finance. Most recently, Moore was appointed to New York State Governor Eliot Spitzer's Transition Committee as a co-chair, providing knowledge and insight as one of Spitzer's policy advisors.

Moore also co-chairs Nixon Peabody's diversity action committee (DAC See D/A converter and discretionary access control.

) established to continue the firm's commitment to diversity initiatives. The mission of this committee is to ensure that a sense of diversity and inclusiveness is fostered throughout the firm in all that the firm does involving its lawyers, personnel, and clients. Under Moore's leadership, the firm's diversity initiative has received national accolades to include recognition by FORTUNE magazine as one of the "100 Best Companies To Work For[R]" in 2006 and 2007.

Being honored by the Girl Scout Council of Greater New York signifies Moore's commitment to ensuring access to opportunity to members of diverse communities and women. "The Girl Scout Council of Greater New York is a prominent organization providing young women of all backgrounds with the confidence and leadership qualities needed to accomplish their dreams," Moore said. "I am honored to be recognized by the Girl Scouts Girl Scouts, recreational and service organization founded (1912) in Savannah, Ga., by Mrs. Juliette Gordon Low (1860–1927). It was originally modeled after the Boy Scouts and Girl Guides, organizations created in Great Britain by Sir Robert Baden-Powell during , and to represent not only Nixon Peabody but also the legal profession as part of this distinguished group of leaders."

Moore is a member of Cornell University's Board of Trustees board of trustees Politics The posse of thugs who oversee an institution's administration. Additionally, Moore was a 2006 recipient of the New York City Bar Association Diversity Champion Award and a Groat Award recipient, the highest honor awarded by Cornell University's School of Industrial and Labor Relations.
