SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 4, 2002

Plaintiff Performance Marketing Group has filed a representative action lawsuit in California state court against Verisign, Inc. Plaintiff alleges that in its attempt to maintain its market share in the face of growing competition from other registrars, Verisign engages in unlawful, unfair and fraudulent business practices in violation of the California Unfair Competition Act, Bus. & Prof. Code Section 17200 et seq et seq. (et seek) n. abbreviation for the Latin phrase et sequentes meaning "and the following."
