Gina Bachauer competition winners.


Juilliard pianists Konstantin Soukhovetski Russian pianist Konstantin Soukhovetski was born in 1981 into a family of artists, and began playing the piano at the age of four. He studied at the Moscow Central School under the auspices of the Moscow Conservatory, where his special subjects also included composition and acting.  and Orion Weiss were winners of the 2003 Gina Bachauer Gina Bachauer, (Greek: Τζίνα Μπαχάουερ), (b. May 21, 1913) (d. August 22, 1976) born in Athens, Greece, was a Greek classical pianist and wife of Alec Sherman, who toured extensively in the United States and  International Piano Competition at Juilliard.

As winners, they open the McGrawHill Companies' Young Artists Showcase series with an hour-long concert October 1, broadcast live on radio station WQXR-FM from Juilliard's Paul Hall Paul Hall may refer to:
  • Paul Hall (footballer) (born 1972), Jamaican footballer
  • Paul Hall (labor leader) (1914–1980), American labor leader
Paul Hall (choreographer from New Haven Conn.)
, hosted by Robert Sherman. In addition, they received scholarships to Juilliard, covering full tuition and living expenses for the 2003--2004 academic year.

The Gina Bachauer Scholarship Fund for gifted pianists was established in 1979 with a bequest from Lillian Rogers of New Orleans New Orleans (ôr`lēənz –lənz, ôrlēnz`), city (2006 pop. 187,525), coextensive with Orleans parish, SE La., between the Mississippi River and Lake Pontchartrain, 107 mi (172 km) by water from the river mouth; founded , a lifelong friend of Bachauer, who died in 1976.
