Gillis, Nosler represent Oregon in Morse Cup.

WOODBURN - Oregon State University's Mitch Gillis was one of three golfers selected Monday to represent Oregon in the Morse Cup team competition.

SEATTLE - Sheldon's Katie Steigleman scored 20 points and South Eugene's Sarah Whitfield added 18 as the WVBA Selects Silver beat P.S. Flight Gold, 90-74, in elite division pool play Monday at the Mid-Summer Night's Madness Nationals. Sheldon's Teresa Brown added 15.

Selects Silver also beat Team Alaska, 74-62, as Kourtney Parks of Summit scored 17 and Steigleman 16.

The WVBA Selects Black split a pair of games, losing to Pacific Pistols, 66-25, and beating P.S. Flight Blue, 58-53.

In the victory, Emily Doran of Crescent Valley and Alexis Nissen of Lebanon each scored 12, and A.J. Smith of Willamette added 10.

Both teams begin elite division championship bracket play today.

In the all-star division, the WVBA Selects White lost to Kamiak High, 46-33, as Maddie Kiplinger of South Eugene scored 10 and Carlee Hauser of Sheldon grabbed 10 rebounds. Kiplinger scored 24 points in a 56-27 victory over South Island Selects from Vancouver, B.C.

Championship bracket play in the all-star division also begins today.
