Gillette selects IRI Software as supplier for Trade Management Information System.


WALTHAM, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 14, 1994--After a six- month analysis of software vendors, The Gillette Company announced its selection of IRI Iri (ē`rē`), former city, North Jeolla (Cholla) prov., SW South Korea. Using IRI Software's DataServer analysis software as its foundation, the TMIS will integrate scanner data with Gillette's shipment data and promotion history, enabling Gillette to perform efficient and profitable promotion planning.

According to Larry Gunther, chief information officer of Gillette's North Atlantic Group, the decision to partner with IRI Software was based on several key factors. ``The Trade Management Information System is a strategic initiative for Gillette. Consequently, selecting the right business partner was critical. IRI Software's DataServer software technology, expertise in promotion planning, and superior customer service complement our technology goals,'' said Gunther.
