. Five tableaux are filled with the spooky stuff of tongue-in-cheek Gothic horror stories: skeletons, ghosts, ghouls in basements, etc. all drawn in proper comic-scary style. What's special in this book is the amount of manipulatable flaps, wheels, pull-tabs, removable parts to assemble elsewhere, and little books to read. The engineering is much to be admired as layers of props open up and, even more important perhaps, are able to be folded up again. Although there are only five scenes, there is so much going on that it seems like much more. There is so much for all school-age youngsters and their teachers to learn and enjoy.
