As it gears up for next year's 80th anniversary celebration of Route 66, the Automobile Club of Southern California The Automobile Club of Southern California was founded December 13, 1900 in Los Angeles as one of the nation's first motor clubs dedicated to improving roads, proposing traffic laws and improvement of overall driving conditions.  is sending motorists on a treasure hunt this summer.

"There is a lot of interest in Route 66," said Elaine Beno, who helped organize the hunt for the Auto Club. "We created the game to help showcase America's main street."
