Get off ass for charity.. APPEAL.THE Donkey donkey: see ass. donkey or burro Descendant of the African wild ass that has been used as a beast of burden since 4000 BC. The average donkey stands about 40 in. (100 cm) high at the shoulder, but breeds range from 24 to 66 in. Sanctuary yesterday appealed for volunteers to hoof it to foot it. See also: Hoof and help raise much-needed funds. The Liscarroll shelter is calling for people to take part in September's Evening Echo's Woman's Mini Marathon in Cork. Paddy Barrett from the sanctuary said: "We rely entirely on donations to care for neglected and unwanted donkeys. "We really do appreciate all the hard work and training that is involved in running the four miles. "The donations raised will be a huge benefit to the animals." |
