FOUR million pounds spent on St George's Square yet Kirklees Kirklees is a metropolitan borough of West Yorkshire, England. It has a population of 390,000 and includes the settlements of Batley, Birstall, Cleckheaton, Dewsbury, Heckmondwike, Holmfirth, Huddersfield, Marsden, Meltham, Mirfield and Slaithwaite.  Council can't afford to repair a street lamp outside one of their own buildings - the Civic Hall in Meltham.

The lamp was reported to the police because of a danger to pedestrians as the bracket In programming, brackets (the [ and ] characters) are used to enclose numbers and subscripts. So we have had no light for over six months. The lamp has been reported to Highways many times since but nothing has been done.

If the lamp was outside a councillor's house it would have been fixed some time ago.
