Elderly people are being offered a helping hand with their shopping.

People in Cruddas Park, in the West End of Newcastle, will be taken in minibuses to supermarkets by Community Neighbourhood Wardens, who will even carry their bags for them.

It's an honour

Educationalist Sir Mike Tomlinson Sir Mike Tomlinson CBE is the chair of the Working Group for 14-19 Reform which has been commissioned by the British Government to look into reform of the syllabus and qualifications structure for 14–19 year-olds in the English education system.  is due to be presented with an honorary degree by Northumbria University tomorrow.
