Get better plasticating of lubricated compounds.

Self-lubricated plastic compounds reportedly can be processed more reliably and consistently with the new Lubrimelt plasticating unit from Battenfeld of America, West Warwick West Warwick (wôr`wĭk, –`ĭk), town (1990 pop. 29,268), Kent co., central R.I., on the Pawtuxet River; set off from Warwick and inc. 1913. Textile manufacturing remains a leading industry. West Warwick includes the village of River Point. , R.I. These low-friction compounds tend to process in a very narrow temperature range and require supplemental barrel heating to accomplish melting, Battenfeld says. High lubricity lu·bric·i·ty

Battenfeld's Lubrimelt plasticating unit has a barrel with grooves in the feed zone to control material transport. The feed zone also builds up high pressure, which makes metering adjustments in the melting zone possible even where wall slippage occurs. The screw also has a high L/D L/D Labor and Delivery
