The six-month World Expo will run from May 1 to October 31, 2010, and is expected to attract more than 70m visitors. Mike Taylor, Liverpool Vision's director of investment and enterprise, added: "The visit is especially significant, given our plans for the Expo in Shanghai next year. "China is predicted to be the world's dominant economy in coming years, so it is critical Liverpool and its academic, cultural and business organisations strengthen existing relationships and forge new ones. "These relationships will deliver new markets, new investment and new visitors to the city, both in terms of students and leisure visitors, helping us sustain recent economic growth in Liverpool and positioning the city as a favoured business partner over the next decade. "The Taste Of Shanghai event is a way of raising the profile of the Expo and celebrating our twinning." This weekend's event runs from 12pm-4pm on both days.
