Gerald de Roquemaurel appointed Chairman of FIPP.

Gerald de Roquemaurel has been appointed as Chairman of the International Federation of the Periodical periodical, a publication that is issued regularly. The election of a French chairman to head the international magazine body revives the origins of the federation, established in Paris, France in 1925, with the aim of promoting freedom of the press.

The appointment of Gerald de Roquemaurel was announced at the FIPP Congress in Buneos Aires, Argentina on Friday 27 April by former chairman, Thomas Souto Correa, who has turned over the position. In his Congress speech, Souto Correa said, "as the departing chairman of FIPP's Board, I am proud to have contributed to the internationalisation (programming) internationalisation - (i18n, globalisation, enabling, software enabling) The process and philosophy of making software portable to other locales.
