He established the direction, products and organization that propelled the MCI National Accounts program from millions of dollars to billions. As president of the Southeast and Northeast divisions, he successfully led consumer and general business operations to record setting performance levels. Responsible for numerous strategic alliances which greatly enhanced MCI's ability to compete against AT&T, he was a lead executive in the British Telecom $4.3 billion purchase of 20 percent interest in MCI. Prior to joining Geotek, Crane was president and chief executive officer of LightStream Corp., an ATM switch manufacturing organization now owned by Cisco Systems. LightStream's first years' losses were in excess of $15 million on minimal revenues. Under Crane's leadership, all facets of the organization and strategies were overhauled and key partnerships were formed with NEC (NEC Corporation, Tokyo, www.nec.com, www.necus.com) An electronics conglomerate known in the U.S. for its monitors.
