Georgia-Pacific to Acquire Slovakia-Based Delis.


ATLANTA & LONDON -- Georgia-Pacific Corp. today announced that it has entered into an agreement with the owners of Delis, s.r.o., a Slovakia-based manufacturer of away-from-home paper consumer products, for the acquisition of Delis. The transaction is expected to be completed in January 2006. Purchase price is not being disclosed.

The acquisition includes all shares of Delis, as well as all shares of Rozis, a related company also based in Slovakia. The operations will become part of Georgia-Pacific's international consumer products unit and its pan-European away-from-home business.

Delis converts paper products, primarily napkins, for the away-from-home market. Rozis produces hand towels and paper coasters.

Delis and Rozis market most of their products through distributors to the professional, away-from-home channel, including restaurants, hotels and large corporations based in Slovakia, Czech Republic Czech Republic, Czech Česká Republika (2005 est. pop. 10,241,000), republic, 29,677 sq mi (78,864 sq km), central Europe. It is bordered by Slovakia on the east, Austria on the south, Germany on the west, and Poland on the north. , Hungary, Germany and Austria.

All of the 100 employees at Delis and Rozis, including the current management team, are expected to continue to operate the facility and manage all operations and functions.
